ISLAMABAD: The federal cabinet on Wednesday approved the signing of the Council of Europe Convention pertaining to prisoners for transfer of Pakistani Dr. Aafia Siddiqui now imprisoned in the US, Geo News reported
Sources said that the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was chairing the federal cabinet meeting, which gave approval to the signing of the Council of Europe Convention here.
During the meeting, the prime minister directed concerned authorities to take immediate measures for the release of Dr. Aafia from US prison to ensure her return back to Pakistan.
Sources said that Dr. Aafia’s family members would also be taken into confidence regarding all legal measures to ensure her release and return.
