A jungle is not the best place to be, and boxing champ Amir Khan is glad that he's out of it.
The
Pakistani-British boxer, who's been one of the most talked-about celebs
in recent entertainment news, was voted out from the British reality
game show I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here after a bullying scandal involving comedian Iain Lee, British media reported.
Amir
is the seventh campmate to be evicted from the jungle. And it just so
happens it was the boxer's 31st birthday when he got the boot but Amir
was more than fine with it.
On his exit interview, he was
asked about comic Iain Lee having a "hard time" in camp, making it the
first time that claims of bullying were addressed on the show.
There
was a strawberry debacle in the jungle, where Amir and campmate Iain
Lee were caught devouring the treat without their campmates. When the
word got out and Amir was questioned, he let Iain take the blame, the
boxer said.
"He suffered a little bit, a bit more than me," Amir said.
"I
was scared. Iain, when he came into camp, he didn't have the best
reputation. The way he acted," he said. "My teammates would never have
expected me to do that. I put my hand up - Iain provoked me to do that."
"I
did feel guilty but I kind of fixed it a bit by saying 'you wouldn't
have liked those strawberries and that cream was so hot'."
He added: "Poor Iain."
And
though he was voted out by viewers, he trusts his fans and knows
they've got his back, including wife Faryal Makhdoom who's been vocal in her support for him after the two patched things up.
"I can't wait to have Amir home," Faryal said on UK's
ITV morning show. However, her absence in the episode didn't go
unnoticed. It is not known if she's currently in Australia.
The couple has just recently reunited after a rough patch in their marriage after Amir publicly accused Faryal of infidelity.
