GUJRANWALA: Chief of Army Staff Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa on
Sunday announced construction of a sports stadium and laying sewerage
during a visit to his native town Ghakhar Mandi.
Bajwa
went to the residence of his ailing relative Chaudhry Muhammad Ashraf
Bajwa and inquired after him. Later, he visited his other relatives
Chaudhry Muhammad Anwar and Chaudhry Muhammad Ahmad.
The
army chief went to the graveyard across the railway station and offered
Fateh at the graves of his grandfather and other relatives.
He
announced construction of a sports stadium along the government
elementary training institute at a cost of Rs175 million. He ordered
immediate removal of cattle market along the boundary walls of
government degree colleges for boys and girls as students of both
institutes had protested against it.
The army chief also announced changing the entire sewerage of the town, and construction of boundary wall of the graveyard.
