Israeli court releases blindfolded Palestinian teen on bail

Israel has released Fawzi al-Juneidi, a 16-year-old Palestinian whose photo of being dragged away blindfolded by dozens of Israeli soldiers has become a symbol of Al-Quds protests, on a bail here on Wednesday.
The Ofer Military Court admitted the bail plea of Fawzi al-Juneidi, ordering him to deposit 10,000 Israeli shekels ($2,870), Daily Sabah reported.
Farah Dabayseh, the Juneidi's lawyer said that the court, which is located west of the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah, had refused the prosecution's plea to extend the detention period.
The court had ordered Juneidi to appear before it on Jan 14 next year.
The symbol of Al-Quds protests has been in Israeli custody for the last three weeks.
Israeli soldiers had arrested Juneidi and blindfolded him after being dragged on the ground in Hebron (Al-Khalil), a West Bank city on Dec 7.
Juneidi’s photos in detention of over a dozen Israeli soldiers had become a symbol of Al-Quds protests.
His uncle said that Juneidi was badly beaten and detained by Israeli soldiers.
