Did we really want a sequel to Jurassic World? Not really. But it's coming.
Despite its record-breaking performance at the box office, Jurassic World didn't captivate its audience the way Jurassic Park
did, with its mutant creation Indominus Rex failing to resonate with
dinosaur fans. But it seems like the producers learned from that and
decided to keep the focus on the more popular dinosaurs for the sequel.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom does not follow humans surviving
dinosaurs but rather has a new villain; a volcano. Chris Pratt returns
as Owen and he is now attempting to save all remaining creatures from
this new baddie. Humans and dinosaurs unite? Let's see how that works
out.
Jeff Goldblum reprises his role as Dr Ian Malcolm and we can
bet this will be the primary reason many will head to the cinemas to
watch this flick. Even if it's a cameo, because, Jeff Goldblum. Is it
just us or has this man aged to perfection?
Our second best returning character is the T-Rex. The makers of Jurassic World
finally figured out the key to a good dinosaur film is an awesome
Tyrannosaurus Rex. That roar took us back to the iconic scene in the
first Jurassic Park!
It's official. The key to making a good Jurassic anything is Jeff Goldblum and a T-Rex.
We
don't know how we feel about this upcoming movie. Yes, its full of
nostalgia and palaeontology fans would love anything dinosaur, but the
storyline has us feeling rather skeptic. Are we expecting raptors to
suddenly work alongside humans for the greater good? Hey, if we can come
up with it, you know someone's gonna make it!
Side note:
one of our favourite moments in the trailer was Chris Pratt's running.
How has that not been made into a thing yet, people?
urassic World: Fallen Kingdom is the second film in the reboot trilogy and the sixth instalment of the Jurassic Park series. The film is slated for release on June 22.
