ISLAMABAD: As violence continues to tighten its grip around Karachi, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has called a special meeting of the federal cabinet to review the law and order situation in the city.
Sindh governor, chief minister, chief secretary, DG Rangers, DG ISI and DG IB would also be asked to attend the upcoming cabinet meeting.
Prime Minister Sharif said that the situation in Karachi was a matter of grave concern and needed to be resolved with consensus.
It may be recalled that Mutttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) had demanded handing over the administrative control of Karachi to the army during Tuesday’s National Assembly and Senate sessions, which was rejected by the government.
